Theory Test

Once you have passed your theory test, you will be eligible to book your practical driving test

In order to gain your driving licence you must pass the theory test before you can book your practical driving test. The theory test is a 50 question multiple choice test, paired with a hazard perception video test (spot the fault).

The knowledge you gain to pass the theory test can then be applied to the road whilst on your driving lessons. Our students at Prime Driving Academy get access to a leading theory test revision app for FREE.

Creating economically, efficient drivers

Helpful Information

At Prime Driving Academy we endeavour to create economically, efficient drivers. From keeping engine revs to a minimum and planning for the road ahead to limit brake wear, we are confident that all our students will be able to drive eco safe, to limit pollution and save themselves money on fuel costs.

At the beginning of the test you will be asked one ‘Tell me’ question to check your understanding of the maintenance required to run a safe and road legal vehicle. Whilst  during the test you will be asked one ‘Show me’ question to check your ability to operate controls whilst on the move.

At Prime Driving Academy, we are motivated to ensure you book your practical driving test proactively in order to beat the waiting times but ensuring you have the ability and confidence needed to pass and drive safely for life.

The Driving test is an approximate 40 minute drive which will include 1 manoeuvre, the possibility of an emergency stop and 20 minutes of independent driving. There are 2 driving test centres in Norwich, covering various parts of Norwich and surrounding areas.
